IoT Solution for Highway Power Distribution Rooms

Published: 2026-10-09 11:15:50

With the continuous development of highway infrastructure and the ongoing expansion of road networks, traditional power distribution room management methods can no longer meet growing demands. Dynamic monitoring and safety early warning have become two major challenges in enterprise operations management.

The large number and wide distribution of power distribution rooms place an enormous burden on enterprise manpower and resources. Staffing these rooms 24/7 with on-site personnel would incur prohibitive costs, while periodic inspection models create significant workloads and still fail to address faults in a timely manner. Manual paper-based record-keeping also complicates data integration and archiving, leaving operations and maintenance work in urgent need of optimization.

To address these challenges, WideIOT offers an unattended IoT solution for power distribution rooms based on industrial smart gateways, centered on the two core objectives of dynamic monitoring and safety early warning. By deploying gateways at each distribution room site and connecting them to sensors, instruments, cameras, and other devices, the system collects real-time data on equipment operating status and electrical load conditions, and transmits it via wireless networks to a remote monitoring platform. This enables comprehensive intelligent operation and maintenance management, achieving truly unattended power distribution rooms.

Features

Displays the operating status of equipment in each power distribution room on PC and mobile platforms, with real-time monitoring of environmental parameters. It consolidates and presents information such as fault alerts and maintenance work orders, providing comprehensive visibility into all aspects of each distribution room.

The system can issue alerts for events such as abnormal temperature, humidity, hazardous gases, and electrical anomalies in distribution rooms. Notifications are sent via WeChat, SMS, or email, enabling rapid localization, diagnosis, and corrective action—ensuring faults are promptly controlled and resolved.

Generates operating data reports for each piece of equipment within the distribution room, and stores and manages all event records—facilitating historical traceability, query statistics, and incident analysis for users.

Establishes a standardized, visualized, and online maintenance workflow, enabling electronic work order dispatch, editing, review, querying, and management. Users can view maintenance progress and work logs at any time, building a maintenance knowledge base.

Based on fault frequency and maintenance quality across various sites and devices, the system supports adjustment and improvement of equipment performance and human resource allocation—ensuring safe on-site equipment operation and efficient, orderly maintenance work.
