PLC Data Acquisition Solution for Filter Presses

Published: 2026-08-28 14:35:52
A coal preparation plant is a facility that sorts and classifies coal into various grades—including clean coal, lump coal, middlings, and coal slime—to meet the requirements of different application scenarios. The filter press is a commonly used solid-liquid separation device in such plants. By applying pressure to a solid-liquid mixture, it forces liquid to permeate out, and the resulting product is widely used in industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, dyes, food, brewing, ceramics, and environmental protection.

Automatic filter presses are typically controlled by PLCs, offering advantages such as high precision, diverse command sets, and ease of operation. By connecting the filter press PLC to a WideIOT industrial smart gateway, the gateway handles data acquisition and cloud communication—collecting parameters such as pressure, voltage, and current, and uploading them via 5G/4G/Wi-Fi/Ethernet to cloud platforms or local host systems. This enables real-time monitoring of equipment status and operating parameters, timely alerts, and rapid management response, as well as ongoing analysis and optimization.

System Capabilities:

Data Acquisition – By connecting to the filter press PLC, the gateway collects real-time operating data including pressure, temperature, flow rate, liquid level, and other key parameters.
Remote Monitoring – Users can access the system via Internet-enabled devices (smartphones, PCs, tablets, etc.) to monitor filter press operation and process parameters in real time, enabling remote oversight and control.
Data Analytics – The system analyzes collected data and generates various reports and trend charts, helping users understand equipment performance, production efficiency, energy consumption levels, and potential failure risks.
Alarm Management – Customizable alert and alarm thresholds can be configured. When abnormalities occur or equipment approaches a fault condition, the system sends timely notifications to users for appropriate action.
Maintenance Management – The system records equipment maintenance work orders, allowing users to track maintenance progress, work logs, and other details—supporting full lifecycle equipment management.
User Management – Role-based access controls with different permission levels ensure data security and operational compliance, while also clarifying management responsibilities.
