Water resources in China are becoming increasingly scarce, wastewater discharge volumes are rising, and the situation regarding water pollution control is becoming more severe. Both the national and local governments have introduced a series of measures and policies to encourage the development of the wastewater treatment industry. At present, in economically less developed regions of central and western China, the wastewater treatment sector still has considerable room for growth and requires further infrastructure improvement.

To address challenges such as the wide geographic distribution of treatment facilities, the large number of devices, and the high demand for real-time management, WideIOT has launched a data acquisition and remote monitoring solution for wastewater treatment plants. The platform enables real-time data display, processing, and analysis, and, when combined with WeChat Mini Programs, supports functions such as remote monitoring and fault alarming.

By connecting PLCs to the industrial IoT terminals, remote PLC control can be achieved. At the same time, water levels and quality parameters in reaction tanks and sedimentation tanks can be monitored via sensors, with the collected data uploaded to the cloud platform. Membrane treatment units can also be remotely controlled through I/O data acquisition terminals, thereby enabling network-wide connectivity and control across the entire wastewater treatment process.

Users can set different alarm thresholds and notification methods for different devices. When parameters such as water level, water quality, or voltage exceed preset limits, automatic alarms are triggered via WeChat, SMS, email, and other channels, allowing managers to respond and take control in a timely manner. In addition, with maintenance work orders, remote diagnostics and progress tracking can be carried out. Through the remote maintenance quick-connect feature, operations such as remote programming, debugging, and remote program upload/download can be performed, saving time and effort while improving maintenance efficiency.
