In large-scale pig farming, the importance of precise feed management is increasingly recognized. A smart pig farm has recently deployed a new set of automatic weighing and feeding equipment, using a Schneider PLC as the core controller. The system is connected to multiple weighing instruments and feeding carts. By reading data from each weighing instrument, the PLC automatically controls the position of the feeding carts and the opening and closing of valves. The data generated by this system now needs to be integrated into the existing smart farming IoT platform (which uses MQTT as its uplink protocol). 2. A visual monitoring dashboard is created on the platform. Managers can view equipment operation status, feeding progress, and feeding data for each pen or barn in real time via PC or mobile devices.
3. Abnormal data is automatically detected and alerts are triggered. Notifications can be sent via WeChat, SMS, or email. The system also supports remote control of the PLC, allowing operators to start/stop the feeding cart and open/close valves remotely.
4. Comprehensive analysis of feeding and equipment operation data is supported. Key metrics such as feed consumption and equipment alert rates can be analyzed on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis, helping businesses make informed, data-driven decisions to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
