IoT Solution for Data Collection from Electric Sanitation Vehicles

With the deepening of the "dual carbon" strategy and the accelerated development of smart cities, the electrification of sanitation vehicles has become a mainstream trend in the industry. More and more new energy vehicles are being put into operation, such as pure electric sweepers, garbage compactors, and water trucks. However, management systems have not kept pace. The system collects real‑time data from PLCs, sensors, GPS units, cameras, and other devices, and transmits it over 4G networks. 2. Monitor various parameters in real time and automatically trigger alerts when anomalies are detected. Notifications are sent via WeChat, SMS, or email. Alarm data is aggregated for centralized management, allowing quick insight into fault distribution, alarm frequency, and other metrics.

3. Create digital records for different equipment, enabling fast access to full vehicle lifecycle information—for example, real‑time water level, voltage, and current for a water truck, or motor status for a sweeper. This can also be linked to maintenance work orders, spare parts, and other related information.

4. The gateways feature industrial‑grade protection and are designed to withstand high and low temperatures, ensuring long‑term stable operation in outdoor environments. They also support data resumption after interruption and automatic reconnection, ensuring safe and reliable data collection and transmission.
