Intelligent Irrigation Management System Based on LoRa Gateway and Cloud Configuration Platform

With the integrated development of technologies such as smart agriculture and smart water conservancy, intelligent irrigation systems have been widely adopted. These systems support agricultural production needs while preventing both insufficient and excessive irrigation, helping to improve water resource utilization efficiency and management levels. However, current management practices still heavily rely on manual labor, and irrigation area information is difficult to access quickly, which affects timely decisionmaking and scientific management.

 

System Architecture

Data from soil sensors and pump station PLCs is collected and packaged via LoRa terminals. This data is then transmitted through a LoRa network to a 4G gateway (WideIOT) and subsequently uploaded to the smart irrigation cloud configuration platform. The platform uses a visual configuration interface to display realtime soil and pump station data along with equipment status to management personnel via both PC and mobile devices. It also provides functions such as monitoring, alarms, management, control, data statistics, and analysis, significantly improving work efficiency and management levels.

Key Features

Realtime precision monitoring of key parameters in the irrigation area, including soil moisture, temperature, pH, as well as pump station operating status, flow rate, pressure, soil electrical conductivity, and more.

Instant alerts – When monitored data goes out of the preset range or equipment fails, the platform sends timely alarm notifications to management personnel via SMS, WeChat, email, and other methods, enabling quick fault location and action.

Remote control of actuators such as pump stations, valves, and solenoid valves, allowing remote start/stop of pumps or adjustment of valve openings, thereby improving emergency response speed and handling efficiency.

Visual data dashboard based on the cloud configuration interface, making it easy to view equipment distribution, operating status, working parameters, as well as statistics on alarm frequency and fault distribution, supporting scientific and informed decisionmaking.
