Smart Irrigation District Monitoring System for Rainfall & Water Levels and Remote Gate Control Solution

Published: 2026-04-23 10:45:37

In traditional irrigation district management, operations rely heavily on manual experience and local control. This often leads to issues such as low water use efficiency, incomplete metering, delayed scheduling, and weak disaster resistance, all of which directly affect productivity and management performance. By leveraging technologies such as IoT and wireless communication, smart irrigation districts enable realtime monitoring and remote control of rainfall, water levels, and irrigation gates, providing strong support for the development of modern irrigation districts and secure food storage.

The WideIOT smart water conservancy gateway supports connectivity to rainfall and water level monitoring stations as well as integrated measurement and control gates. It collects realtime data from devices such as water level sensors, rain gauges, and PLCs, and transmits parameters including water level, flow rate, and gate opening status to the smart irrigation district management platform via 4G networks. This enables remote monitoring, alerting, management, control, and data analysis, effectively improving management efficiency and providing digital support for enhancing grain production quality and yield.

Key Functions

Supports connection to rainfall and water level monitoring stations (water level sensors, rain gauges, flow meters) and integrated measurement and control gates (gate position sensors, PLC controllers, motor current/voltage sensors), collecting comprehensive data including water level, flow rate, cumulative rainfall, gate opening status, operating status, and fault codes.

The gateway features a lightweight edge computing engine that can perform onsite data filtering, deduplication, threshold judgment, and unit conversion. This effectively reduces cloud transmission and storage pressure while improving data transfer efficiency.

Provides a configuration platform for quickly setting up alarm rules. When abnormal data is detected, alerts are automatically sent via WeChat, SMS, or email, enabling rapid fault locating and corrective action.

Tracks the opening status of each gate through the platform. Remote on/off control is available for designated gates, and all operation records are logged and traceable.

Calculates and summarizes cumulative flow through each channel over different time periods (daily, every 10 days, monthly, per irrigation season) to generate water usage reports. Alarm reports can also be generated to support equipment maintenance, helping to make scientific and rational decisions through data analysis.
