Leading provider of industrial IoT solutions for digital and intelligent transformation. Established in 2011, we have served over 20,000 customers in more than 100 countries.
With the rapid development of education and the implementation of China’s “dual carbon” goals, campuses have become key areas for energy consumption and emission reduction.
Taking a new campus of a university as an example, which integrates teaching, research, and living facilities, the traditional energy management model has led to high consumption, low efficiency, and poor control. A smart energy management system is therefore essential.
Campus energy demand varies by season, time of day, and usage type, including electricity for teaching, living, and research, as well as heating, cooling, and hot water. Key facilities include PV, energy storage, EV chargers, HVAC, and lighting. Summer cooling and winter heating are major load centers.
WideIOT deploys energy data collection gateways to connect meters (water, electricity, gas, heat), PV inverters, BMS/UPS for storage, and PLCs for cooling/heating units. It collects real-time data on consumption, duration, power factor, etc., and transmits it via 5G/4G/WiFi/Ethernet to the smart campus energy platform. This enables remote monitoring, alerts, management, control, and analytics, improving efficiency and management.
The gateway aggregates and transmits data to the platform, which uses big data analytics to generate reports and visualizations. Managers can view real-time consumption, historical trends, and energy use by area or device.
The system also offers smart alerts. If energy use spikes abnormally, alerts are sent via SMS, email, or push notifications for quick action.
For control, managers can remotely operate devices—e.g., adjusting classroom lighting and HVAC based on schedules, or optimizing storage charging/discharging during off-peak hours. The system can also integrate with smart building and automation systems for coordinated optimization.
