Remote Monitoring Solution for Secondary Water Supply Pump Stations Based on 4G IoT Gateway

Published: 2026-08-22 11:43:22
Secondary water supply pump stations are critical to ensuring stable and reliable water delivery to residents in high-rise buildings. Any equipment malfunction—such as pressure fluctuations or pump failure—can lead to water outages or unstable water pressure for upper-floor users, making this a key priority for utility companies and facility managers.

By deploying a 4G IoT gateway, pump stations can be equipped with remote monitoring and fault alert capabilities. The system integrates water quality data, security surveillance, and remote control system data, all of which are uploaded to a centralized secondary water supply remote monitoring cloud platform. This approach effectively ensures stable operation of the secondary water supply system and meets residential water demand.

System Architecture

The WideIOT 4G IoT gateway features a wide range of interfaces, supporting analog, digital, and pulse signal inputs. It can connect to PLCs, sensors, pumps, water meters, power meters, and surveillance cameras within the pump station. The gateway collects real-time data including voltage, current, inlet/outlet water pressure, and flow rate, and transmits this data to the monitoring platform via 5G/4G/Wi-Fi/Ethernet. This enables remote monitoring, anomaly alerts, and equipment management functionalities.

System Functions

Connect to sensors to monitor temperature, humidity, water pressure, water level, flow rate, and water quality parameters in real time.
Access surveillance camera feeds to visually inspect the pump station site in real time, helping to prevent losses from unexpected incidents.
Collect data from water and power meters to monitor supply voltage, current, and power consumption of equipment inside the pump station.
Use the equipment management platform to track the on/off status of valves, equipment start/stop states, and online/offline status of connected devices.
Monitor PLC operating status in real time and generate fault alerts via WeChat official accounts, mini-programs, SMS, or email.
Leverage the remote device maintenance tunnel, allowing engineers to remotely upload/download PLC programs and perform programming/debugging tasks from anywhere, at any time.
