Solution for Energy Consumption Collection and Monitoring Systems in Smart Manufacturing Factories

Published: 2026-08-04 11:44:13
In recent years, the demand for energy management and optimization has been steadily increasing, with practical applications emerging across smart factories, smart cities, smart campuses, and other scenarios. Built on an industrial IoT architecture, energy consumption collection and monitoring systems integrate technologies such as big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and remote operations and maintenance to address real-world energy management and optimization needs.

WideIOT's energy consumption collection and monitoring system integrates multiple capabilities—including data acquisition, edge computing, remote control, data analytics, energy optimization, and operations and maintenance management. It significantly enhances overall energy efficiency and intelligent management, enabling management entities to implement energy-saving strategies, perform big-data modeling and mining, and make scientifically informed decisions—ultimately achieving integrated intelligent applications for energy control, management, and maintenance.

The system primarily consists of on-site metering instruments, data acquisition gateways, and an energy monitoring and management platform. On-site equipment includes multiple water meters, electricity meters, thermal energy meters, air conditioning units, and other devices. The data acquisition gateway is equipped with rich I/O interface modules and is responsible for collecting, analyzing, processing, and storing energy data related to water, electricity, air conditioning, and more within the facility. It periodically reports energy data to the platform as required, enabling visualized monitoring, management, control, and maintenance—all while effectively supporting energy optimization efforts.

System Functions

Data Acquisition
The gateway collects various types of energy consumption data and uploads it to the energy monitoring and management platform. It supports data collection from water meters, electricity meters, gas meters, thermal meters, air conditioning units, and other equipment, with connectivity options including Ethernet ports, serial ports, and I/O ports.

Energy Monitoring
Provides visualized monitoring of overall plant energy consumption, departmental consumption, equipment-specific consumption, and other categories—covering water, electricity, gas, heat, and more. Data is classified and presented through reports, charts, and other visualization formats.

System Integration
Standardizes diverse data sources to enable integrated management of multi-source heterogeneous data, including equipment status, energy efficiency indicators, energy consumption analytics, fault alarms, maintenance work orders, and other functional modules.

Automated Alerts
Any abnormal operating parameters automatically trigger alerts that are delivered to responsible personnel via voice calls, SMS, WeChat, email, or other channels, ensuring timely management and control.

Device Connectivity
Supports network connectivity and cloud data upload via 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet, allowing flexible deployment with minimal installation complexity. It can also be seamlessly integrated with various cloud platforms to enable multi-center monitoring.
