IoT-Based Solution for Data Collection and Remote Monitoring in Waterproof Material Production Factories

A group company, which has established a multi-business operational model centered on the research, development, manufacturing, and sales of waterproof materials, along with technical and engineering services, currently operates over 10 comprehensive production factories across the country to achieve automated production.

 The company now requires the establishment of a distributed remote operation and management system for processes and equipment to ensure stable and efficient product delivery. In response, WideIOT offers an IoT-based solution for data collection and remote monitoring.

At the production sites, various equipment such as drying machines, oil coating machines, sanding devices, electricity meters, length counters, temperature sensors, and pressure sensors are controlled by Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

 By connecting these PLCs to WideIOT industrial smart gateways, data is collected and reported to the group's developed IoT platform. This allows for remote viewing of real-time data and control of certain parameters via computers and mobile phones, reducing the need for on-site personnel and enabling technicians to monitor and adjust data anytime and anywhere without having to physically visit each device. This effectively enhances production efficiency and management levels.

Through the implementation of automated processes including data collection, data processing, fault alarms, remote operation and maintenance, and management, the traditional logic of factory monitoring and management is transformed.

 The group company can now monitor information on various factories, workshops, and equipment in real-time from the central monitoring platform, including location distribution, operational status, process parameters, alarm events, and maintenance work orders, enabling timely management and control measures.

Furthermore, through mobile terminals, computer terminals, and group monitoring screens, multi-dimensional data can be viewed in real-time on data dashboards. Key information such as production capacity, fault rates, and energy consumption levels can be processed and analyzed to assess and improve operations and make scientific and reasonable decisions. This aids in better guiding production activities across various factories, effectively improving production efficiency, reducing production costs, and enhancing economic benefits, thereby achieving digital transformation and sustainable development.
