Solution for Online Power Quality Monitoring in PV Grid-Connected Systems

With the widespread deployment of photovoltaic (PV) power plants, grid interconnection issues have drawn increasing attention. To ensure safe, stable, and efficient grid-connected operation of PV systems, real-time monitoring and data analysis of power quality at the point of common coupling (PCC) are essential. This allows operators to stay informed about equipment performance and prevent issues such as reverse power flow or grid overload. The system deploys industrial data acquisition gateways at the power quality monitor or inverter side to collect key parameters—including voltage, current, frequency, harmonics, power factor, and active/reactive power. Through edge computing, the data is standardized and transmitted via 5G/4G wireless networks to the PV plant operation management platform. This enables remote monitoring, fault alerts, command dispatch, equipment management, and visual data analytics, providing robust data support for the safe and reliable operation of PV power stations.

Supports access to a wide range of communication protocols, including IEC 101/103/104, Modbus TCP/RTU, IEC 61850, and DL/T645, ensuring compatibility with various power quality monitoring devices and inverters.

Built-in protocol conversion engine allows collected data to be transformed into standard protocols such as Modbus, MQTT, and HTTP, facilitating seamless integration with management platforms or third-party systems.

Edge computing capabilities include data filtering, threshold-based alarming, logical judgment, scheduled reporting, data caching, and retransmission, significantly improving system responsiveness.
Industrial-grade hardware design with 9–36 V wide-voltage input, operating temperature range of –20°C to 70°C, support for battery/solar power, and strong electromagnetic interference resistance, making it well-suited for outdoor PV site environments.
