To enhance energy utilization efficiency, a certain cement plant has installed a new set of waste heat power generation units at the kiln head and kiln tail of its clinker production line. The requirement is to integrate the existing Distributed Control System (DCS) and the newly added waste heat power generation units into an Internet of Things (IoT) management platform. WideIoT offers an efficient and reliable data collection solution for this purpose.
The on-site DCS utilizes the OPC UA protocol, while the main controller of the waste heat power generation units is a Siemens PLC (S7 protocol). The industrial intelligent gateway can connect to both DCS and PLC devices, perform protocol parsing and data collection tasks, and convert OPC UA and S7 protocols into the MQTT protocol for integration with the IoT management platform. This enables functions such as remote monitoring of equipment processes, fault alarming, remote control, and data analysis, thereby enhancing work efficiency and management levels.

Protocol Compatibility and Unified Data Transmission
The gateway is compatible with multiple mainstream industrial protocols, including OPC UA, S7, and Modbus, allowing seamless integration with various devices. It can uniformly convert data from different protocols into MQTT, Modbus, and other protocols for uploading to the platform, reducing project costs and implementation cycles.
Industrial-Grade Design and Robust Data Handling
Featuring an industrial-grade design, the gateway exhibits strong anti-interference capabilities and operates within a wide temperature range, making it well-suited for the harsh environments of cement plants. It incorporates built-in data caching, enabling local data storage during network failures. Once the network is restored, data is automatically resubmitted, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
Real-Time Monitoring and Immediate Alarming
Upon integration with the platform, managers can monitor equipment status and process parameters in real-time through a graphical interface that provides intuitive visualizations. In the event of parameter abnormalities, alarms are triggered immediately and notified to relevant personnel via multiple channels, facilitating rapid issue identification and resolution to minimize downtime.
Remote Operation and Comprehensive Maintenance Management
The solution supports remote operations on devices and systems, such as starting and stopping equipment and adjusting parameters, thereby improving work efficiency. It also offers comprehensive maintenance management functions, recording equipment operation and repair data, assessing equipment health, and formulating preventive maintenance plans.
In-Depth Data Analysis and Value Extraction
By conducting in-depth analysis of equipment and process data, the solution uncovers potential value. Managers can gain insights into equipment efficiency, energy consumption, quality indicators, and other metrics, identifying optimization opportunities to inform production decision-making.
