Water Circulation Equipment Data Collection and Remote Monitoring System

Project Background:
A water management company is responsible for the operation and management of a shopping mall's cooling water circulation system, which has already achieved PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) automation.

 Over time, the frequency of abnormal failures in the circulating water equipment has increased, burdening the maintenance staff with a growing workload. Considering the costs of on-site monitoring and operational safety, there is a demand to implement data collection and remote monitoring for the water circulation equipment to achieve precise and efficient maintenance, thereby reducing costs and improving work efficiency.

System Overview:
The site includes water supply equipment, cooling towers, submersible pumps, direct drinking water equipment, etc., all connected to PLC electrical control cabinets.

 The PLCs are connected to WideIoT industrial smart gateways via RS485 interfaces. The gateways convert the data to 4G communication for transmission to an IoT cloud platform, enabling real-time monitoring, fault alarms, remote control, and remote maintenance of the entire water circulation system.

Implemented Functions:

  1. Real-time Equipment Status and Process Parameter Display: Intuitively display the operational status and process parameters of the circulating water treatment equipment on a configuration interface, supporting multi-screen switching and zooming for quick problem identification.

  2. Intelligent Fault Prediction and Alarm: Monitor abnormal data based on intelligent early warning rules to predict equipment failures and automatically send early warning messages to relevant personnel, shortening fault response times.

     Support for notification methods such as WeChat, SMS, and email.
  3. Remote Control: Enable remote start/stop and speed control of pumps, valves, and other equipment for flexible scheduling and emergency response.

  4. Remote Maintenance: Facilitate remote programming, debugging, and program uploading/downloading of PLCs at remote locations, improving work efficiency.

  5. Data Analysis: Customize and generate performance reports, alarm reports, and discharge reports to provide decision-making support for enterprise management.

  6. Maintenance Management: Establish equipment maintenance records, track repair histories, and remind for regular maintenance to extend equipment lifespan.
