PLC Data Acquisition IoT System Solution for Briquetting Machines

Published: 2026-10-08 14:57:20
A briquetting machine, also known as a ball press or briquetting equipment, is an industrial machine primarily used to compress various granular or powdery materials into spherical or other predetermined solid shapes under high pressure. These machines are widely used in metallurgy, mining, coal, building materials, refractory materials, chemicals, and other industries—pressing materials that are difficult to shape, such as iron powder, aluminum powder, coking coal, limestone, gypsum, and tailings. Key advantages include improved material utilization, reduced dust pollution, easier transportation and storage, and enhanced physical and chemical properties of materials.

The working principle of a briquetting machine typically involves using the powerful pressure generated by a hydraulic system to squeeze fed materials into balls through two counter-rotating pressure rollers. Under the rotation and pressure of the rollers, materials are gradually compressed into spheres with a certain degree of strength. Therefore, the safe and stable operation of the hydraulic system and power supply system during equipment operation is critically important for production safety. Enterprises need to monitor these systems to guard against potential unexpected faults—ensuring both personnel and equipment safety.

To address this, WideIOT offers an IoT system solution for briquetting machines based on industrial smart gateways. By connecting to the controller PLC, the gateway can adapt protocols and perform data acquisition, then forward the data to cloud platforms or host systems—enabling remote monitoring of briquetting machine operating status and parameters, along with automatic alerts.
Management personnel can view SCADA screens and real-time status of each machine via PC or mobile at any time. When abnormal data is detected, notifications are automatically sent via WeChat, SMS, or email—enabling rapid localization and response measures. Through remote control and remote maintenance operations, unexpected accidents can be avoided, and timely management and control measures can be taken to ensure production safety.

In addition, enterprises must prioritize data analysis and application. Using information such as equipment operating parameters, alarm records, and maintenance work orders, valuable patterns hidden within the data can be uncovered—providing a scientific basis for production and operations. For example, analyzing historical data can help predict potential future issues and enable preventive measures in advance, or adjusting process parameters based on current production conditions can further improve product quality and output.
