In modern logistics and smart manufacturing systems, automated warehouses have extremely strict requirements for environmental temperature, humidity, and cleanliness. As a critical facility ensuring stable operation of equipment and safe storage of goods, the clean air conditioning system directly impacts the reliability and efficiency of the entire warehouse system. However, for clean air conditioning equipment manufacturers, the after-sales maintenance phase often faces challenges such as "late fault detection, difficult fault localization, and slow response times," making it hard to meet the demand for efficient and precise service.
Due to the lack of remote monitoring capabilities, one company's maintenance team had to send personnel on-site for troubleshooting, with fault localization taking several days. This led to increased customer complaints and high after-sales service costs. Even more challenging, some faults are intermittent—by the time an engineer arrives on-site, the system may have returned to normal, making it difficult to identify the root cause. This results in repeated repair requests, severely impacting customer trust and the company’s reputation.
To address these pain points, WideIOT deploys industrial intelligent gateways at the PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) side of each clean air conditioning unit. These gateways collect key data such as temperature, humidity, fan operating status, and compressor start/stop frequency in real time, and transmit the data via 4G/5G to a centralized remote operation and maintenance management platform. This enables remote monitoring, alerting, management, control, maintenance, and data analysis, helping equipment manufacturers achieve efficient and precise after-sales maintenance.
1. Multi-interface device connectivity for comprehensive data collection
The industrial intelligent gateway is equipped with multiple interfaces including RS485, RS232, DI, DO, AI, AO, and Ethernet, making it compatible with PLCs from different brands and protocols (such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, Schneider). It enables real-time collection of core operational parameters of the air conditioning units.
2. Data resumption and network redundancy for continuous and complete data
The gateway supports data resumption and multi-network backup. When the primary network fails, it automatically switches to a backup network. During network outages, data is cached locally and automatically re-uploaded once the connection is restored, ensuring no loss of historical operational data and providing a complete basis for fault tracing.
3. Visual monitoring via remote O&M platform for quick fault localization
The platform displays the operational status of equipment across different projects and sites through equipment directories and site maps. Manufacturers can remotely view key indicators of all in-warranty units, including temperature and humidity changes, fan start/stop status, and filter differential pressure, allowing for optimized resource allocation.
4. Smart alerts and work order dispatch for improved after-sales responsiveness
Custom alert rules can be set. When an alert is triggered, the system automatically notifies maintenance engineers via SMS, WeChat, or email, and can generate an after-sales service work order. This enables a closed-loop management process covering "alert → dispatch → maintenance → verification."
5. Cloud-based operational data storage to support maintenance analysis and quality improvement
All monitoring data can be stored in databases such as MySQL and SQL Server, enabling manufacturers to perform trend analysis of equipment operation, fault type statistics, and prediction of component lifespan. Additionally, the data serves as an objective basis for after-sales service quality assessment, customer dispute resolution, and product iteration design, helping companies transition from "reactive maintenance" to "proactive prevention."
