Circulating Water Pump PLC Data Acquisition, Monitoring, and Management System Solution

Published: 2026-05-09 10:50:51

A large industrial park is equipped with a PLCcontrolled circulating cooling water system, consisting of six circulating water pumps, three cooling tower groups, and associated piping networks. This system is responsible for cooling critical equipment across multiple production workshops within the park. However, as the equipment ages, the client faces several challenging issues. Because the circulating water pump station is located far from the central control room, maintenance personnel must conduct daily onsite inspections and manually record data into work order management systems. This results in a heavy workload and makes it difficult to detect anomalies in a timely manner, significantly impacting overall equipment efficiency.

To address this, WideIOT deploys industrial IoT gateways that connect to the PLCs to collect realtime data on pump operating status (start/stop, faults), process parameters (discharge pressure, flow rate, motor current, operating temperature), and electrical parameters (voltage, power factor, cumulative power consumption). The data is then reported to the park's IoT platform via 4G networks. This enables remote monitoring, management, alerting, control, and statistical analysis of the circulating water pump equipment, effectively improving work efficiency and management standards.

Key Features

Displays key parameters such as flow rate, pressure, temperature, and water quality for reactors, heat exchangers, and condensers using visual formats like line charts and bar charts, providing an intuitive overview of the circulating water system's water quality safety and cooling efficiency.

Automatically collects and monitors in real time core data from circulating water quality monitors, including concentration ratio, pH value, conductivity, turbidity, and residual chlorine, helping to ensure the safety of pipeline equipment and maintain production safety and stability.

Reports data on total wastewater discharge, water quality, and treatment/recovery volumes. By connecting to environmental authority management platforms via the HJ212 protocol, the system provides data references for reducing water pollution and supporting ecological management efforts.

uates water consumption in the circulating water system by collecting realtime flow rate and velocity data from monitoring instruments, providing data support for improving water resource utilization efficiency.

Provides decision support for improving equipment efficiency and optimizing system operation processes through energy efficiency analysis and visual presentation of pump water supply flow and pressure, cooling tower efficiency, and heat exchange performance.
