Leading provider of industrial IoT solutions for digital and intelligent transformation. Established in 2011, we have served over 20,000 customers in more than 100 countries.
A vehicle parts manufacturing company operates multiple automated production lines consisting of CNC machines, industrial robots, and PLC-controlled equipment from various brands (such as Fanuc, Siemens, and Mitsubishi). In actual production, management faced a serious "black box" data problem: equipment status and production counts relied on manual paper records, which were not only inefficient but also introduced significant data delays. This led to distorted OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) calculations. Moreover, without real-time visibility into the causes of equipment downtime, the company struggled to make accurate diagnoses or informed decisions, ultimately impacting production efficiency and product quality.
To address the challenges posed by closed communication protocols and disconnected data across the production line, WideIOT deployed industrial intelligent gateways for the company. These gateways are equipped with a built-in "protocol parsing engine" and connect to on-site PLCs, CNC machines, and industrial robots via Ethernet or serial ports. At the edge, the gateways collect real-time equipment operating status, alarm codes, and count signals. After performing data cleaning and logical calculations, they transmit standardized OEE core metrics and abnormal events efficiently to the cloud or on-premise MES system using the MQTT protocol. This provides production management with comprehensive and reliable data support.
1. Real-Time OEE Visualization – Management can view real-time data on equipment availability, performance efficiency, and quality rate at any time via shop floor dashboards or mobile devices, with accurate OEE reports automatically generated.
2. Smart Analysis & Anomaly Alerts – The system automatically monitors various alert conditions (differentiating between faults, changeovers, and material shortages) and sends warnings to maintenance personnel via SMS, WeChat, email, and other channels.
3. End-to-End Quality Traceability – By linking work orders with equipment parameters, the system creates a complete production traceability record from raw material batches to finished product serial numbers, effectively resolving the management challenge of "firefighting after the fact."
