Data Acquisition Solution for Gate LCU Control Cabinets

Published: 2026-04-16 11:17:46

Gate LCU (Local Control Unit) cabinets are widely used in large gate and sluice control systems across water conservancy, power, and transportation sectors. Each cabinet consists of a PLC, analog display, switch, 4G module, power supply, enclosure, sensor cables, connectors, and power cables. They monitor and control gate status and operating parameters.

During operation, real-time data includes gate opening, load, current, voltage, and upstream/downstream water levels. WideIOT deploys 4G smart gateways to connect to the PLC, collect gate data, and enable 4G connectivity. This allows cloud-based remote monitoring, alerts, management, control, and analytics, ensuring safe and reliable gate operation.

Key Features

1. Data Collection – Collects gate status and parameters such as upstream/downstream water levels, flow rate, and gate position. Data is sent to the management platform and accessible remotely via PC or mobile phone.

2. Alerts – Customizable alert thresholds and notification methods (WeChat, SMS, email). Automatic alerts on anomalies enable quick response.

3. Remote Control – HMI visualization of gate status allows remote control of gate opening, water level, and flow rate, improving response time and operational flexibility.

4. Live Monitoring – Provides network connectivity for cameras, enabling multi-site simultaneous video monitoring for better situational awareness.

5. Store & Forward – Temporarily stores data locally during network interruptions and automatically uploads after restoration. Solar power support ensures data reliability and integrity.

6. Data Analytics – Generates visual reports on gate operations and water conditions, helping managers assess performance and water resource utilization, supporting smart irrigation district development.
