A protocol converter, also known as a protocol conversion gateway, is a network device capable of performing bidirectional data conversion and transmission between different communication protocols, data formats, or languages.Its core function is to ensure accurate and real-time data interchange between heterogeneous systems (such as sensors and cloud platforms, industrial PLCs and IoT gateways) without altering the core meaning of the data, only converting the "transmission rules" and "encoding formats" of the data.
