Energy-Saving Data Monitoring System Solution for Data Center

A factory's data center has carried out energy-saving renovations on its air-conditioning cooling and heating sources, including 4 chiller units and 2 heat pump units. The chiller units operate around the clock, while the heat pump units only run during winter. System Architecture

Device Layer

Controllers (PLCs) of each air-conditioning unit, smart electricity meters, flow meters, and other devices are connected to industrial smart gateways.

Gateway Layer

Industrial smart gateways collect real-time device data and energy consumption data, and then notify the local upper computer via Ethernet.

Platform Layer

The upper computer receives the data for storage and processing, providing functions such as monitoring, alarming, management, control, and analysis.

Functional Features

  • Multi-Device Data Collection: The gateway supports one-to-many data collection, enabling the gathering of data such as energy consumption, inlet and outlet water temperatures, cooling water pump status, and cooling water flow rates from both chiller and heat pump units. It facilitates networking communication through 5G/4G/WIFI/Ethernet and other means.

  • Centralized Monitoring and Visual Display: It achieves centralized monitoring and visual display of the status of multiple devices and process parameters. In case of abnormal fault risks, automatic alarms are triggered, and notifications are sent via WeChat, SMS, email, etc., providing detailed alarm information.

  • Remote Control: It allows for remote start/stop operations of chiller units, heat pump units, cooling water pumps, valves, and other devices, effectively enhancing the flexibility of management work. In case of abnormalities, rapid control can be implemented to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the data center.

  • Data Aggregation for Decision Support: By summarizing information such as cooling water temperature, hot water temperature, device energy consumption, and device load, it provides reliable decision support for dynamically adjusting device status parameters, thereby improving energy utilization efficiency and energy-saving benefits.
