Data Acquisition in MES (Manufacturing Execution System)

Data acquisition serves as the foundation of MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and provides a reliable basis for statistical analysis within the system.

In industries such as metallurgy, cement, paper making, petrochemicals, and chemicals, MES systems enable real-time sharing of various information, including process flows, production management activities, and material tracking. They offer visual and intelligent management tools that reliably assist enterprises in enhancing production efficiency and reducing production costs.

Given the large number of production devices in factories, with diverse types and communication methods, and the substantial volume of data collected, each MES system project faces complex and tedious data acquisition tasks, imposing increasingly high demands on the data acquisition system.

In response, WideIoT provides an industrial IoT-based data acquisition gateway that collects data from production site devices such as PLCs, instruments, industrial robots, CNC machine tools, and sensors, and uploads it to the MES system, enabling various intelligent applications.

The data acquisition gateway possesses the capability to parse and convert multiple industrial device protocols, allowing it to collect device data in real-time and convert it into specific formats for upload to the MES system.

It supports communication via 5G/4G/WIFI/Ethernet, enabling data visualization, display, and management analysis on mobile phones, computers, and local large screens, thereby facilitating production management, equipment maintenance, energy conservation optimization, and capacity optimization.

Types of Data That Can Be Collected and Monitored:

  1. Device Data: Includes the operational status, capacity, fault information, and maintenance records of devices, facilitating equipment monitoring and maintenance management.

  2. Quality Data: Production process quality inspection data, the number of defective products, and quality control parameters, used for real-time monitoring of production quality.

  3. Real-time Production Data: Includes real-time performance indicators such as production rate, good product rate, and downtime, enabling quick responses and adjustments to production plans.

  4. Traceability Data: Data from each stage of the production process, enabling product traceability and assisting in identifying and resolving issues.

  5. Report and Analysis Data: Used for generating various reports and analyses, helping management make decisions and optimize production processes.

  6. Process Parameter Data: Production process parameters, including temperature, pressure, and flow, which help maintain production consistency and stability.
